5 COMMON MISTAKES WHEN USING EYELID MARGIN SCRUB BRUSH

Your Guide to Using Eyelid Margin Scrub Brush & Getting Perfect Eyelid Hygiene Results

As an optometrist dedicated to your eye health, I'm here to share some crucial insights on avoiding common pitfalls when using the EYELID MARGIN SCRUB BRUSH. This precision tool is fantastic for your eyelid care routine, but like any tool, knowing how to use it correctly is key to achieving the results you want. Read tips on EYELID MARGIN SCRUB BRUSH HERE. Buy here.

1. You're Using Too Much Pressure.

  • Gentle. Soft. Light. Less is more when it comes to Eyelid Margin Scrub Brush. My patients think that scrubbing harder will make the eye problem go away faster. It just irritates the specialized, delicate tissue of the eyelid margin. Softly grazing over the eyelid margin is just as effective. The bristles do all the dirty work.

2. You're Doing It Too Much.

  • Once a Day. Again, less is more. Start with once a day before bedtime. 99% of my patients just do it once a day and they still get results they want.

3. Not Using a 10X Lighted Magnifying Mirror.

  • Eye Injury: The most common mistake is not using a 10X lighted magnifying mirror and accidentally scraping the inside eyelid, which can cause a small abrasion. I use a slit lamp microscope to do this precise, precise, exacting work. There is no room for error. Use the mirror for best optics!

4. Giving Up Too Early.

  • Practice. Practice. Practice: Some of my patients love EYELID MARGIN SCRUB BRUSH immediately. Others can't deal with the discomfort. It definitely takes practice. After 5-10 times with the help of that 10X lighted magnifying mirror - my patients get the hang of it and love it.

5. Using the Brush Naked.

  • Cleansing Oil: Would you ever use a toothbrush without toothpaste? Same idea. Always use one of my cleansing oils: Tea Tree (brown label, teal label) or Rosemary (green label) with Eyelid Margin Scrub Brush. Here the cleansing oil does the cleaning but also serves as a buffer between the bristles and the eyelid margin. Using the brush 'naked' and with pressure can cause micro abrasions of the eyelid margin tissue.

Incorporating the Eyelid Margin Scrub Brush into your routine takes practice and precision. A few simple adjustments can prevent mishaps and ensure your blepharitis / MGD eyelid hygiene routine is both effective and safe.
