Revitalize Your Eye Care: Hydrate, Moisturize, and Activate VITAMIN C for Brighter, Youthful Eyes

HOW TO HYDRATE, MOISTURIZE, & ACTIVATE VITAMIN C IN YOUR EYE CREAM ROUTINE
A Powerful Start: The Eye-Opening Truth
Face skin is not the same as eyelid skin. The eyelid skin is 4 times THINNER than the skin on your face – it has vastly different needs and limitations. Can you use face stuff on your eyes? Maybe. Can you use eye stuff on your face? Probably.
Let's talk about how you can create an eye cream routine that is supportive to the eyelid skin barrier while offering the potent benefits of VITAMIN C – a very common facial active that tends to create dry, flakey, sensitized eyelid skin.
Understanding the Role of VITAMIN C
Why VITAMIN C?
In the world of eye creams & eye care, VITAMIN C is a game changer. Not tolerated well by everyone, but it does help to brighten the under-eye area and also supports collagen production for firmer eyelid skin. Read <HERE> for my list of all the VITAMIN C BENEFITS.

Understanding Dry vs. Dehydrated Eyelid Skin
Isn't dry the same thing as dehydrated?
They are not and I see this often confused on the internet. I'm an optometrist and I always like to return to the basics of anatomy and physiology. Dry eyelid skin needs oil. Dehydrated eyelid skin needs water. It's really that simple.
Understanding Eye Cream Formulating
Can't One Eye Cream Do it ALL?
Yes and no. When it comes to formulating eye creams, certain ingredients perform and live better in anhydrous environments. Other ingredients perform well in water based environments. Moisturizing ingredients include oils and waxes. This will address natural lipids that sit inside the very top of the eyelid skin barrier. Hydrating ingredients include water, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin to the entire stratum corneum of the eyelid skin barrier. They are intimately related but do have different needs.
Formulating with VITAMIN C is also not easy. It tends to be unstable and also very irritating to eyelid skin in concentrations meant for face. We Love Eyes URBANEYES™ eye cream utilizes a VITAMIN C active in an eye-safe concentration without compromising results.
- Corum-Et-Vc™ - a new generation of stable VITAMIN C derivative that provides superb whitening effects, serves to promote collagen synthesis, and protects DNA damage

BLEND IT ALL TOGETHER
Eye Eye F™ Eye Balm.
Add a very small amount to clean fingertips.
Urbaneyes™ Hyaluronic Defense Eye Glass.
Add the same amount to the balm so you get a 50/50 ratio.
Blend with clean fingertips to mix both the balm and eye cream together. The heat of your fingertips will start to melt the balm into the eye cream. You've now created a custom emulsion. Apply a very thin layer to upper eyelids, lower eyelids. Heck, you can also apply to face and neck with any leftovers.
Do's and Do Not's
1: Do not pre-blend the eye creams
Urbaneyes™ has a preservative system. Eye Eye F™ does not have preservatives because it is a 100% anhydrous formula (no water). Pre-blending would destroy the preservative system of Urbaneyes™ rendering it useless.
2: Sequencing
Do apply your custom emulsion as the very last step and after cleansing. This will SUPPORT EYELID SKIN BARRIER integrity. If you want to level up eyelid skin barrier health, start double cleansing your eye makeup off. Read the DOUBLE CLEANSE tutorial <HERE>. A healthy eyelid skin barrier creates a more resilient base for VITAMIN C to perform its magic.
3: Remember What Does What
Do pay attention to your eyelid skin. Some days will be more dry, so add more EYE EYE F BALM™ in your ratio. Some days will be more dehyrated - add more URBANEYES™ to the ratio. If your eyelid skin barrier is doing great, you can always use Urbaneyes™ solo to get more VITAMIN C benefits.
4: Gentle Strokes
Do apply your eye creams in gentle patting motions. I'm not a stickler for which finger my patients use. I also make this EYE ROLLER which allows fingerless, smooth application of eye cream. Just roll after you've dabbed the eye area with the eye cream.
4: Results
Although it's happened, do not expect results after the first application. Eyelid skin takes 28 days to recycle. So it takes time. Once you build this into your skincare / beauty routine, you'll see the results before you know it.
Why This VITAMIN C Eye Cream Routine Works
This routine is not just about applying products; it’s a carefully curated process that respects the anatomy of your eyelid skin depending on the day. The blend of hydration, moisture, and active VITAMIN C creates a powerful defense against premature aging. The result? Brighter, smoother, and more resilient skin that looks as healthy as it feels.

Meet the Optometrist Behind the Routine
I’m Dr. Tanya Gill, OD, and Founder of We Love Eyes. Frustrated with eye creams on the market, I decided to formulate my own. We Love Eyes eye creams are different. All ingredients are eye safe for my dry eye / MGD patients. I also broke down eye cream based on eyelid skin anatomy. Dry eyelid skin needs oil. Dehyrated eyelid skin needs water. Yep, it's that simple! Visit We Love Eyes today and check out my Eye Cream Collection. I've sorted it by eyelid skin type and included my personal go to.
